Mr. Max “Butch” Bailey Jr., 70, of Heath Springs passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at WJB Dorn VA Medical Center. He was born March 19, 1948 in Lancaster,S.C, a son of the late Max Gene Bailey Sr. and Doris Overby Bailey Mr. Bailey served our country as a medic in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam. After military service, he furthered his education, graduated from college and worked in management in the retail industry. Mr. Bailey’s last years were devoted to farming.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Bailey will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Rich Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Rod Yow officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery with Military honors will be on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10:00 am.Mr. Bailey is survived by a brother, Tommy Bailey of Lancaster; a sister Betty Hinson and her husband Doug of Lancaster; three nieces, Dawn Mangum, Marcia Fulton, and Amanda Cook; three great nieces, Kaycee, Kayla, Christy; and four great nephews Hunter, Shawn, Brad, and Ryan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by a sister Frances Bailey and a nephew Mark Hinson.Memorial contributions may be made to Rich Hill Baptist Church, 1557 East Doc Garris Road, Heath Springs, S.C. 29058.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Bailey.
