Mrs. Joanne Sutton Graves, 87, of Lancaster, widow of Whit R. Graves, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. She was born May 21, 1932 in Cullowhee, NC, a daughter of the late William Earl Sutton and Julia Davie Coward Sutton. Mrs. Graves was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mrs. Graves loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved teaching the children in Lancaster County.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Graves will be held at a later date.Mrs. Graves is survived by three daughters, Susan Graves and Stacey Leatherman and her fiancé, Mark Green all of Lancaster and Sandi O’Leary and her husband Brian of York; a sister, Ruth Cowley of Virginia; and two grandchildren, Matt Williams and Whitney Williams Blackmon.The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice & Community Care, 2275 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Graves.
