David Lathan Rivers Sr

Mr. David Lathan Rivers, 78, of Lancaster, husband of Deloris Rivers passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019 at his home. He was born July 19, 1941 in Lancaster, S. C., a son of the late Jesse Burns “Jake” Rivers and Jessie Lathan Rivers. He was a member of Shiloh A. R. P. Church.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rivers will be held Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Shiloh A. R. P. Church with the Rev. Dean Franklin and Rev. Wayne Dickson officiating. Inurnment will be in the Shiloh A. R. P. Church Cemetery.Mr. Rivers is survived by his wife of 55 years Deloris Rivers; a son Lathan Rivers and his wife Holly of Lancaster; a daughter Dana Rivers Haney and her husband Lee of Winnsboro , S.C.; two brothers J. B. Rivers Jr. and his wife Patsy of Irmo, S.C.; Laurin Rivers and his wife Gayle of Gaston S.C.; One sister Nancy Thompson of Tennessee; nine Grandchildren Danielle Rivers Deese (James); Katie Rivers Avant (Brant); Benjamin Rivers, Matthew Rivers, Dalton Haney, Heidi Foreman; Jennifer Haney; Katelyn Haney; Carmen Haney; and one Great Grandchild Phillip Deese. Mr. Rivers was a faithful member of Shiloh A.R.P. Church where he served as a deacon and elder. For pleasure he liked to watch NASCAR racing, fishing, and watching his grandchildren play ball. He especially loved to play with his Great Grandson Phillip.. The family will receive friends after the memorial service Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Shiloh A. R. P.
