Charles Matthew Parker

Mr. Charles Matthew Parker, 71, of Lancaster passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at his home. He was born January 15, 1948 in Lancaster, a son of the late Carl Parker and Sudie Herring Parker. Mr. Parker faithfully attended Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. He was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Parker enjoyed riding his four wheeler and fishing. He also like to save knives and other collectables.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Parker will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Larrimore, Rev. Cliff Wilson and Rev. James Wilhide officiating. Burial will be private.Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Wanda G. “Jackie” Parker; a son Jacob “Matt” Parker and his wife Kelly of Heath Springs; two daughters, Mandy Gibson and Rhonda “Roni” Hammond both of Lancaster; two brothers, Wayne Parker and his wife Peggy of Lancaster and Kenn “Doodle” Parker of Fort Lawn; a sister, Norma “Pug” Neal and her husband Sonny of Rock Hill; six grandchildren, Kayla Funderburk, Toni Lloyd and her husband Buck, William “Jay” Parker, Kristen Hammond, Richard “Boo” Hammond and Austin Wemes; and seven great grandchildren, Alexis, Jaren, Alayah, Providence, Phoenix, Charlee and Aspen. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa “Missy” Funderburk and her husband Rusty, and a sister, Kimmie Tucker.The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church and other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 2094, Lancaster, SC 29721.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Parker.Read Obituary
