Mr. William Lawrence Hunter, Sr. 94, of Heath Springs, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022 at MUSC Health – Lancaster Medical Center. He was born March 25, 1928 in Heath Springs, SC, a son of the late Chalmers Waddel Hunter and the late Faye Powers Hunter, and preceded in death by his wife, Vera Hunter, and a brother, Edward Hunter.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hunter will be held Tuesday, June 07, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Patrick Clark officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.Mr. Hunter is survived by two sons, Mr. William Lawrence Hunter, Jr. (Janet) of Elgin, SC and Joe D. Hunter of Lancaster, SC; 2 daughters, Elizabeth H. Taylor (Kim) of East Bend, NC and Judy H. Suttle (Manning) of Roan Mountain, TN; four Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren. Mr. Hunter was a Korean War Combat Veteran, retired from Springs Industries after 56 years of service, an avid gardener, USC Gamecocks fan, loved car racing, and loved doing projects with his hands, visiting shut ins, and others in the hospital.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. before the Funeral Service in the New Hope Sanctuary.Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans, 6437 Garners Ferry Rd, Suite 1129, Columbia, SC 29209, or New Hope Baptist Church, 3731 Lynwood Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Hunter.Read Obituary

So sorry to read about Mr. Hunter’s passing. He was such a nice man, so glad I was able to meet him. My condolences to Bill and Janet, Joe and the entire Hunter family.
