Walter Lane Talbert

Mr. Walter Lane Talbert, 68, of Lancaster passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the W.J. Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia. He was born October 24, 1949 in Albemarle, NC, a son of the late Lane Reeves Talbert and Lectie Vanhoy Talbert. Mr. Talbert was a US Army Vietnam War Veteran. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Talbert will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 12 noon at the Chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald M. Sanders officiating. Burial to follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia at 2:00 pm. Mr. Talbert is survived by his wife, Sally Yoder Talbert; a son, Michael Wayne Talbert and his wife Jennifer of London, Ohio; a daughter, Rhonda Ellen Harper and her husband Donald Scott of Rock Hill; a brother, Steve Talbert of Shelby, NC; and three grandchildren, Kent James Morgan, Nathaniel Luke Talbert and Leslie Grace Harper. In addition to his parents, Mr. Talbert was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Talbert; and a sister in law, Rosa Linda Talbert. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Lancaster Funeral Home.
