Mr. Walter Neal Cook, Sr., 77, of Lancaster, widower of Wanie Cook, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at his home. He was born April 4, 1941 in Waxhaw, NC, a son of the late Scott Andrew Cook and Novella Mavin Myers Cook.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Cook will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Merritt officiating. Inurnment will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Cook is survived by a son, Walter “Wally” Cook, Jr. and his fiancé Evelyn of Lancaster; three daughters, Jeanne Johnson, Sherry Hill and Rebecca “Becky” Carnes all of Lancaster; a brother, Steve Cook and his wife Sylvia of Lancaster; three sisters, Jean Stogner and her husband Mike, Florence Moree and Sue Wright all of Lancaster; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Scarlett, Mindy, Jody, Desiree, Jennifer, Christopher, Travis and Chad;13 great-grandchildren, Tootie, Hanna, Bryce, Emily, Braeley, Junior, Mickey, Luke, Journey, Lettah, Matthew, Lathan and Alayna. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Bob Cook, George Cook, Clyde Cook & Richard Cook; a sister, Mary Helms; and a great-grandson, Tyler Walters.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at 1909 John Everall Road, Lancaster Sunday, August 5, 2018 and Monday, August 6, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Cook.
