Wade Hampton Montgomery Jr.

Mr. Wade Hampton Montgomery, 71, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at his home. He was born July 12, 1949 in Lancaster, a son of the late Wade Hampton Montgomery, Sr. and Sadie Crawford Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He loved cooking, going to flea markets and playing with his fur baby Coco. Mr. Montgomery enjoyed working in his yard and placing flowers on his relatives graves, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Montgomery will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 1 p.m. at his home with the Rev. Mitch Ingram officiating. Mr. Montgomery is survived by a brother, William Montgomery of Lancaster; a daughter, Lisa Self of Lancaster; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elliott Montgomery; and five sisters, Mildred Cantey, Barbara Pate, JoAnn McManus, Betty Taylor and Margie Montgomery. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the home, 199 Foxdale Court, Lancaster.
