Vivian Louise Plyler Hunter

October 6, 1924 - March 8, 2022

Mrs. Vivian Louise Plyler Hunter, 97, of Lancaster, widow of Ernest Hunter, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at her home. She was born October 6, 1924 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Samuel Plyler and Izzie Vaughn Plyler. Mrs. Hunter was a member of Catawba Baptist Church. She retired from Springs Industries after 43 years of service. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hunter will be held Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11 a.m. from the graveside at Lancaster Memorial Park with the Rev. Donald W. Tillman and Rev. Hunter Brown officiating. Mrs. Hunter is survived by three daughters, Paulette Brown and her husband Kenneth, Diane Pitmon and Becky Carter all of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Scott Brown and his wife Melanie, Ron Carter and his wife Dawn, Brian Carter and his wife Tanya and Wendy Bell; 11 great-grandchildren, Rev. Hunter Brown, Christian Brown, Lindsey Fleener, Madison Carter, Jordan Carter, Brandon Bell, Kayla Bell, Lauren Poston, Dustin Snipes, Kelsey Carnes and Mackenzie Thompson; and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Hunter; three grandsons, Rev. Timothy Snipes, Donnie Snipes and Andy Carter; one great-grandson, Carter Fleener; four brothers, Malcolm Plyler, Clyde Plyler, Eugene Plyler and Andrew Plyler; and a sister, Mildred Vincent. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Lancaster Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Springdell Baptist Church, 1420 Springdell Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or to Home Care and Hospice of Lancaster, 901 W. Meeting Street, Suite 201, Lancaster, SC 29720. Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Hunter.
