Virginia Iona "Jenny" Thomas

Ms. Virginia Iona “Jenny” Thomas, 77, of Kershaw passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022 at her home. She was born March 22, 1945 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Ben Oliver Thomas and Lila Irene Goodman Thomas. Jenny was a member of Freedom Free Will Baptist Church. She had volunteered with the American Red Cross and had retired from Lancaster County EMS. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ms. Thomas will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Chaplain Sheldon Green officiating. Ms. Thomas is survived by two sons, Gary Denton of Lancaster and Timothy Denton and his wife Amber of Kershaw; a brother, Robert “Bob” Thomas and his wife Doris of Rock Hill; two sisters, Edwina Sullivan of Lancaster and Chris Polutta and her husband Ted of Charleston; six grandchildren, Brandon, Douglas, Shane Denton, Megan McAteer and Madison Denton; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca “Jackie” Mercer. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
