Mr. Thomas Maxey “Tincey” Blackmon, 83, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born January 20, 1934 in Lancaster, a son of the late Harvey Blackmon and Maxine Baker Blackmon. Mr. Blackmon was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He served our country as a soldier in the U.S. Army during the mid 1950’s, worked in textiles and later started his construction company. He also enjoyed farming and raising cows. In addition, Mr. Blackmon loved spending time with his family.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Blackmon will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 3:30 pm at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Trent McLaughlin officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Baptist Church.Mr. Blackmon is survived by his wife, Margaret R. Blackmon of Lancaster; a daughter, Beth Dunson and her husband Larry of Lancaster; a brother, Calvin Blackmon and his wife, Catherine of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Andrea Dunson Lloyd and her husband, Ryan and Conner Dunson; and a great-grandchild, Brooks Lloyd. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Blackmon; three brothers, Reece Blackmon, Walter Blackmon and Roger Blackmon; and three sisters, Dot Baker, Mary Ellen Johnson and Beverly Powers.The family will receive friends following the service Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church and other times at the home of Beth and Larry, 2679 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster.Memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 3052 Taxahaw Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Blackmon.Read Obituary

I loved going to see Mr. and Mrs. Blackmon. My daughter is good friends with Beth. They were very good to talk to. Found out that Miss Margaret used to play with my older sister. He was a very good person. Will miss him. Bless all of you.
