Robert Lee Broughton Sr.

Mr. Robert Lee Broughton, Sr., 87, of Lancaster, widower of Josephine Gardner Broughton, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at his home. He was born January 3, 1931 in Lancaster, a son of the late James Harvey Broughton and Estelle Watts Broughton. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Broughton will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11 am at Jones Crossroads Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Christopher and Rev. Mike Hammond officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park. Mr. Broughton is survived by a son, Robert Lee Broughton, Jr. and his wife Dianna of Lancaster; two daughters, Janet B. Ellis and her husband Tony and Susan B. Young and her husband Randy all of Lancaster; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Joe Broughton, James Broughton, Richard Broughton, Charles Broughton, Luther Broughton and Leo Broughton; and two sisters, Rosa Mae Hinson and Virginia Watts. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2436 Golf Course Road, Lancaster.
