Mr. Richard Wayne Smith, 71, of Lancaster, widower of Carolyn Smith, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at his home. He was born November 6, 1946 in Lancaster, a son of the late Clyde Smith and Irene Sims Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of Westside Baptist Church. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Smith will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11 am at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Robinson and Rev. Scott Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Abney Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Smith is survived by a son, Jason Smith and his wife Nancy of Lancaster; a daughter, Donna Williams and her husband Jerry of Houston, TX; a sister, Linda Pardue of Lancaster; and four grandchildren, Jaycie & Abby, Elizabeth and Mary Alice Smith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Smith. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Lancaster Funeral Home.
