Richard Alan Medlin Sr.

Mr. Richard Alan Medlin, Sr., of Lancaster passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at his home. He was born January 11, 1948 in Monroe, N.C., a son of the late George Richard Medlin and Arbutus Keziah Medlin. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Medlin will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 4 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Moser officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Medlin is survived by his wife, Teresa Myers Medlin, of the home, two sons, Michael McAteer (Crystal) and Tyler Foight (Jenny) both of Lancaster, SC as well as three daughters, Tonya Mason of Hinesville, GA., Amanda Hartley (Timothy) and Jennifer McAteer (Eric) both of Kershaw, S.C., Mr. Medlin is also survived by one sister, Patricia Morrison of Lancaster, SC and fourteen grandchildren. Mr. Medlin was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Alan Medlin, Jr. and Timothy Grey Medlin, as well as his parents. Mr. Medlin was a positive thinking, compassionate, and energetic man. He never complained and always had a smile on his face. Mr. Medlin enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He proudly served our country as a soldier in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era.
