Rebecca Mae Cauthen Wood

Mrs. Rebecca Mae Cauthen Wood, 77, of Lancaster passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at MUSC-Lancaster. She was born February 21, 1943 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Jessie Barber Cauthen and Lula Belle McMurray Cauthen. Mrs. Wood was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served as a nursery worker and a member of the Joy Club. Her life was centered around church and her family. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wood will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Pace and Rev. Mendel Baker officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband, Ryan Samuel Wood of Lancaster; two daughters, Janice Wray and her husband Joel of York and Sharon Annette Rape and her husband Dewayne of Lancaster; a sister, Peggy Evans of Lancaster; and 4 grandchildren, Michael Cameron and his wife Katherine, Misty Tuley and her husband Nick, Stephanie Rape and Ryan Rape and his significant other, Gabby Shuler; and six great-grandchildren, Connor, Abigail and Charlotte Cameron, Alyson, Van and Kevin Tuley. She was preceded in death five brothers, JB Cauthen, Crawford Eugene Cauthen, William Brown Cauthen, Stanley Cauthen and Emmitt Cauthen; and three sisters, Beulah Adams, Joyce Workman and Betty Baker.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Wood.Read Obituary
