Ray Sager

Mr. Ray Sager, 76, of Lancaster, widower of Frances Hamilton Sager, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born March 25, 1942 in Rockingham, NC, a son of the late Buck Sager and Rushie C. Manus. Mr. Sager loved his job working for the railroad. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains and making sure his wife was happy. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Sager will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 3 pm at Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Wheeler Reese officiating. Mr. Sager is survived by two sons, Mark Sager and his wife Jan of Lancaster and Mike Sager and his wife Susan of Greenville; four grandchildren, Blake, Marcus and Olivia Sager and Brooke Oliver; and three step-grandchildren, Kenneth and Jennifer Byrdic and Brandi Knight; a great-grandson, Devan Michael Sager; six step great-grandchildren, Peyton, Parker and Kennedy Byrdic and Jordan, Jaxon & Brady Knight; and two brothers, Levine Monroe and Perry Manus. He was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Monroe; and two sisters, Sarah Harris and Sharon Mudd.
