Peggy Bowers Newman Demeter

Mrs. Peggy Bowers Newman Demeter, 87, of Lancaster passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at MUSC-Lancaster. She was born February 5, 1933 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Elmer Eugene Bowers and Jacie Beulah Mahaffey Bowers.A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Demeter will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 5 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald W. Tillman officiating.Mrs. Demeter is survived by a son, Randy Newman, Sr. and his wife Cindy of Lancaster; a daughter, Marcine Wiggins and her husband Frank of Gaffney; a sister, Betty Taylor of Lancaster; a daughter-in-law, Diane Newman of Lancaster; eight grandchildren, Randy Newman, Jr., Melissa Newman, Jennifer Newman, Jessica Newman, Jill Newman, Paula Di Lorenzo, Kenny Parker, Jr. and Zachary Taylor; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Audie Merle Newman; five brothers, Olin Bowers, Wade Bowers, Alton Bowers, Jerry Bowers and Bernard Bowers; and a sister, Susie Moore.The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Lancaster Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be made to Lancaster SPCA, P.O.
