Parley Burk Sistar

Mr. Parley Burk Sistar, 89, of Lancaster, widower of Kathleen Bradburn Sistar, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at MUSC Health – Lancaster Medical Center. He was born February 12, 1931 in York, a son of the late George and Mary Sistar. Mr. Sistar served our country in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. After his military service, he was employed with Springs Industries for forty seven years, until his retirement. Mr. Sistar was not content to sit at home and he went back to work at Duracell and remained there another eighteen years. Mr. Sistar had a cat named Pearl that he loved very much.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Sistar will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside at Lancaster Memorial Park with the Rev. Rusty McAlister officiating.Mr. Sistar is survived by a son, Kenneth Wayne Sistar and his wife Pam of Fort Lawn; three daughters, Karen Sistar Hatch and her husband Richard, Darlene Sistar Green and her husband Jeff, all of Lancaster and Lisa Dianne Sistar Scott and her significant other, Tate of Blythewood; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Danny, Dd, Chris, Tiffany, Adrian, Jamie and Tia; thirteen great grandchildren, Jerica, Austin, Brandon, Haley, Daniel, Taylor, Tyler, Travis, Mackenzie, Alexis, Jeremy, Ethan and Stacy; and three great great grandchildren, Scarlett, P.J., and Maverick. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Sistar was preceded in death by three brothers, Ervin Sistar, Edwin Sistar and Richard Sistar.The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Lancaster Funeral Home.
