Olin Dee Gainey

Mr. Olin Dee Gainey, 82, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Novant Health – Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. He was born February 27, 1939 in Angelus, SC, a son of the late Arthur L. Gainey and Mildred Wilson Gainey. He was the owner of Dee Gainey’s Auto Body Shop in Charlotte. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gainey will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park. Mr. Gainey is survived by three sons, Bobby Gainey of California, Scott Gainey of Lexington and Colby Simpson (Lindsey) of Rock Hill; two daughters, Niki Laney (Nick) of Charlotte and Kayla Cox (Andrew) of Rock Hill; a sister, Margie Steen of Lancaster; former wife and best friend, Martha Gainey of Charlotte; ten grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Miles; three brothers, Marvin Gainey, Ray Gainey and William Wilson; and three sisters, Lilly Kee, Vera Knight and Clara Faulkenberry. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Lancaster Funeral Home.
