Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Carnes Bundy, 96, of Lancaster, widow of Gary “Pete” Bundy, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born June 16, 1921 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Roy Ernest Carnes and Ella Edith Walters Carnes. Mrs. Bundy was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who adored her grandchildren and enjoyed spending quality time with them. Mrs. Bundy also loved to work in her garden and she also enjoyed fishing.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bundy will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 2 pm at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Robinson officiating. Burial will be private.Mrs. Bundy is survived by two sons, Dennis Bundy and David Bundy both of Lancaster; a brother, Jack Carnes and his wife Phebe of Lancaster; two sisters, Lou Bundy and her late husband, Mitchell and Wynona Cox and her late husband Julian both of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Wendy Snipes, Tim Beckham, Jenny Freeman, Angie Hegler, Paul Bundy, Mark Bundy and Richie Beckham; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Jerry Bundy, Larry Bundy and Bobby Bundy; two daughters, Clara Beckham and Jane Beckham; a brother, Thomas Marion “Bill” Carnes; and a granddaughter, Lori Blackmon.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Lancaster Funeral Home.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Bundy.
