Mr. Lawson Dexter Mangum, Sr., 89, of Lancaster passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at his home. He was born June 14, 1928 in Bethune, a son of the late Henry Thomas Mangum and Bleeka Mae Joyner Mangum. Mr. Mangum was a member of White Springs Baptist Church.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Mangum will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 at 12 pm at White Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Waldrop officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Mangum is survived by his wife, Eula Mae Moseley Steele Mangum of Lancaster; a son, Lawson Mangum, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Marie Gardner of Lancaster; a brother, Melvin Mangum and his wife Eunice of Bethune; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Mangum; three brothers, Gary Mangum, Thomas Mangum and Frank Mangum; and five sisters, Mamie Blackwell, Beulah Davis, Inez Catoe, Irene Ray, and Hattie Mae Payne.The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2017 at White Springs Baptist Church Family Life Center.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Springs Baptist Church Family Life Center, 1249 Grace Avenue, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Home Care and Hospice of Lancaster, 901 West Meeting Street, Suite 201, Lancaster, SC 29720.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Mangum.
