Laura Anne Dennis Godwin

Mrs. Laura Anne Dennis Godwin, 63, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at MUSC Health-Lancaster. She was born August 2, 1955 in Lancaster, a daughter of Gertrude Cauthen Dennis and the late Raymond Luther Dennis, Sr. Mrs. Godwin was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Godwin will be held Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Covenant Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bert Welch officiating. Burial will be private. Mrs. Godwin is survived by two daughters, Katherine Lanter and her husband Alex of Rock Hill and Elizabeth Hyland and her husband Ben of Lancaster; her mother, Gertrude C. Dennis of Lancaster; a sister-in-law, Judy Dennis of Charlotte, NC; a brother, David Dennis and his wife Laura of Kennesaw, GA; and a grandson, James Lanter. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Godwin, Jr.; her father, Ray Dennis, Sr.; and a brother, Ray Dennis, Jr. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2019 at Covenant Baptist Church.
