Ms. Katherine Phillips (Strickland), 88, of Kershaw passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at her home. She was born October 8, 1933 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late George Hammond and Viola Adams Hammond. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church. Ms. Strickland is survived by a son, Rocky Phillips of Kershaw; a daughter, Janet Hanna of Kershaw; a brother, Ricky Hammond and his wife Beth of Lancaster; two sisters, Shirley Funderburk and her husband Jack and Carolyn Huneycutt all of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Patches Reed, Shane Hanna, Brandi Phillips, Maranda Pence, Matt Phillips and Eli Phillips; and four great-grandchildren, Raeli Reed, Reannna Reed, Lakin Hanna and Banks Hanna. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wendell Phillips; a son, Randy Phillips, a grandson, Tony Phillips; two brothers, Sam Hammond and Floyd Hammond; and a sister, Frances Hargett. The family will have a visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the home, 4592 Billy Holley Road, Kershaw, SC. Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Ms. Strickland.
