Mrs. Karen Michelle Starnes Plyler, 61, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 at her home. She was born August 1, 1960 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Robert Guy Starnes and Rosa Lee Gulledge Starnes. Mrs. Plyler was an outgoing and friendly person that never met a stranger. She worked at Walmart in Lancaster for 18 years. She enjoyed working there because she saw so many people. Her hobby was cross stitching. Mrs. Plyler was of the Christian faith.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Plyler will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 6 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Hammond officiating.Mrs. Plyler is survived by a daughter Amanda Lee Plyler of Lancaster; four sisters, Kathy Laney and Donna Byrdic of Lancaster, Suzette Taylor and her husband Larry of Lancaster, Joy Salat and her husband Andy of High Point, NC; and a granddaughter, Gracelyn Rose Plyler.The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Lancaster Funeral Home. The family requests that masks be worn. She was one of the sweetest students I ever had!! She was always so positive and always smiling. I personally will miss her at Wal Mart. If she spotted me at Wal Mart, she would come hug me and say, "My favorite teacher!". She will be missed!
