Jessie Elizabeth Hudson Rowell

Mrs. Jessie Elizabeth Hudson Rowell, 86, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born June 18, 1931 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Hazel and Thelma Brasington Hudson and was the widow of Lonnie G. Rowell. Mrs. Rowell was a member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Rowell will be held Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Porter officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park. Mrs. Rowell is survived by two sons; Brian Rowell and his wife Cathy of Lancaster and Mark Rowell of Tucson Az.; two daughters, Susan R. Pittman and her husband Felix of Lancaster and Gwyn Franklin of Charleston; a brother Henry Hudson and his wife Karen of Charlotte; a sister Willie Mae Carnes of Lancaster; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Rowell was preceded in death by a daughter Melody Ann Rowell and one sister Doris Blackwell. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home of Felix and Susan Pittman.
