Mr. James Oscar Rollins, 85, of Lancaster, widower of Sara Dean Faulkenberry Rollins, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at MUSC Health – Lancaster Medical Center. He was born May 25, 1935 in Lancaster, a son of the late James Lewis Rollings and Dora Louise McAteer Rollings. A US Army Veteran, Mr. Rollins was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved fishing, racing, sports, was an avid Gamecock fan, and loved spending time with his family and friends. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rollins will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the Rev. John Rogers and Rev. Buddy Thomas officiating. Mr. Rollins is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Ann Rollins and Deborah Lynne Rollins both of Heath Springs; two brothers, Lonzo Wesley Rollings, Sr. and Floyd Lee Rollings both of Heath Springs; a sister Irene Arant of Heath Springs; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Rollins was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Rollings and a sister, Margie Idell Hunter. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
