James Hammond Hagins

October 7, 1929 - January 23, 2022

Mr. James Hammond Hagins, 92, of Lancaster, widower of Peggy Ann Mobley Hagins, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at White Oak Manor. He was born October 7, 1929 in Heath Springs, a son of the late Samuel Everette Hagins and Sadie Elizabeth Hammond Hagins. Mr. Hagins was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and was a Mason and member of Camp Creek Lodge # 317. He had owned and operated Southern Tool and Die. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hagins will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Perry Evatt and Rev. Eddie Usher officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the St. Luke United Methodist Church Cemetery. The wearing of mask and social distancing is requested. Mr. Hagins is survived by three sons, Michael Hagins (Donna), David Hagins (Susan) and Larry Hagins (Donna); a daughter, Lisa Crolley (Lynn) of Conway; a brother, Richard Hagins of Camden; a sister, Mary Plyler of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Scott Hagins, Sadie Ferguson, D. J. Hagins, Meredith Keenan and Ellen Hagins; and two great grandchildren, Peggy Lyn Ferguson and Jackson Ferguson. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Hagins was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Hagins, Cecil Hagins and Sam Hagins and two sisters, Doris Cauthen and Julia Hagins. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the committal service and other times at the home of Larry and Donna Hagins. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720. Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Hagins.
