Mrs. Iris Jean Plyler Cauthen, 79, of Lancaster, widow of Manley Albert Cauthen, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at CMC-Union. She was born January 21, 1938 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Ervin Plyler and Lois Carnes Plyler. Mrs. Cauthen was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Cauthen was a member of Camp Creek Eastern Star. She loved to cook, read, go camping and spend time with her family and friends.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Cauthen will be held Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 3 pm at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Waldrop and Rev. Randy Mellichamp officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.Mrs. Cauthen is survived by three sons, Joey Cauthen of Richburg, Michael Cauthen and his wife Lisa and Ricky Cauthen and his wife Traci all of Lancaster; a daughter, Barbara Steadman and her husband Van of Varnville, SC; three grandchildren, Blair Cauthen, Grant Cauthen and Lanie Cauthen; a sister, Collette Adams of Lancaster; and two sisters-in-law, Faye Wilson and her husband Jerry; and Irene Harper.
