Granvil L. "Bill" Peagler Sr.

Mr. Granvil Lewis “Bill” Peagler, Sr., 82, of Lancaster passed away Friday, February 8,, 2019 at his home. He was born July 29, 1936 in St. George, SC, a son of the late Gary Peagler and Mollie Martin Peagler. Mr. Peagler was a faithful member of Christian Assembly Worship Center. He loved his church and his church family and served the Lord to the best of his ability. Mr. Peagler was a good provider and always worked hard to support his family. He and Betty Jeane were married for 61 years and he loved her more than life, as well as his children. Mr. Peagler enjoyed caring for his farm animals and loved the companionship of his farm dogs. He had worked for Springs Industries for 26 years and had retired from Tyson Foods after 12 years.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Peagler will be held Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Christian Assembly Worship Center with the Rev. Marvin Tennant and Silberio Francis officiating. Burial will be private.Mr. Peagler is survived by his wife, Betty Jeane Peagler; a son Lewis Edward “Eddy” Peagler (Jenny) of Lancaster; four daughters, Nancy Burgess (Paul), Carolyn Marie Robbins (Rob) all of Lancaster, Molly Roof (Ray) of Chester and Wanda “Tootie” Bowers and (Floyd Godfrey) of Catawba; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Peagler is preceded in death by a son, Granvil Lewis Peagler, Jr.; a grandson, Jimmy Duncan; and four brothers and four sisters.The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Christian Assembly Worship Center and other times at the home.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Peagler.Read Obituary
