Gary Earl Weathersbee Sr

Mr. Gary Earl “Big Gary” Weathersbee, Sr., 74, of Blackshear, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Memorial Health Satilla-Georgia. He was born September 15, 1945 in Gaffney, SC, a son of the late Albert Fitzgerald Weathersbee and Mollie Naomi Bishop Weathersbee. Mr. Weathersbee served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was wounded in Vietnam and later discharged. Mr. Weathersbee was the commander of the Lancaster VFW Post 5936 for over 10 years. He was a founding member of Trinity Motorcycle Club, Kershaw, SC and a past president, retired. Mr. Weathersbee was an avid Gamecock fan and Trump Supporter.Those who wish to be a part of the funeral procession should be ready to line up at 1 p.m. Sunday at Lancaster Funeral Home for the last ride with Big Gary.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Weathersbee will be held Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. from the graveside at Lancaster Memorial Park with the Mr. James Faile officiating with Military Honors.Mr. Weathersbee is survived by his wife, Joyce L. Weathersbee of Lancaster; a son, Gary E. Weathersbee, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Hinesville, GA; a daughter, Cassie Michael Weathersbee Mathews and her husband, Franklin “Taz” of Lancaster; a brother, William Albert “Bill” Weathersbee and his wife Bonnie of Columbia; a sister, Minnie Jo W. Sibert of Augusta, GA; and five grandchildren, Gary E. Weathersbee III, Monica J.
