Fleta Leona Chandler Pettit

Mrs. Fleta Leona Chandler Pettit, 87, of Heath Springs, widow of Jack B. Pettit Sr., passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born October 22, 1930 in Altavista, VA, a daughter of the late Robert Loran Chandler and Bessie Rose McDaniel Chandler. Mrs. Pettit was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Pettit will be held Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Pettit is survived by a son, Jack B. Pettit Jr. and his wife Denise of Heath Springs; a daughter, Belinda Warfield and her husband Mike of Lancaster; a brother, Benny Chandler of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Crystal Pardue and her husband Jamie, Jack B. Pettit III and Nicole Gordon and her husband David; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob and Justin Pardue, and Cody, Braxton and Chase Gordon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Chandler; and a sister, Catrina C.
