Mrs. Evelyn “Virginia” Bradley Jewett Horton, 82, of Lancaster, widow of Russell Horton, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at her home. She was born November 22, 1937 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Odell Bradley and Daisy Harris Bradley. Mrs. Horton loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Mrs. Horton loved life and lived it to the fullest. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Horton will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 11 a.m. from the graveside at Lancaster Memorial Park with the Rev. Tim Larrimore officiating. Mrs. Horton is survived by three sons, Melvin Jewett and his wife Debbie, Scott Jewett and his wife Rhonda and Lynn Jewett and his companion Lisa all of Lancaster; two daughters, Holley Patterson and her husband Junior and Crystal Beverly and her husband Rodney all of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Horton; a brother, Coleman Bradley; and three sisters, Willie Mae Carnes, Irene Hyatt and Louise Snipes. The family will receive friends at the home on 1552 Maplewood Avenue, Lancaster. Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Horton.Read Obituary
