Mrs. Evelyn Mae Hinson Mullis, 86, of Lancaster, widow of Ray Floyd Mullis, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at her home. She was born March 30, 1935 in Monroe, NC, a daughter of the late Gad Hinson and Daisy Newsome Hinson. Mrs. Mullis retired from Grace Bleachery after 40 years of service with Springs Industries. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a member of the Antioch Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Mullis enjoyed baking during her free time. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mullis will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Simpson and Rev. Dr. Trent McLaughlin officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park. Mrs. Mullis is survived by a son, Wayne Mullis of Lancaster; three brothers, Ronnie Hinson and his wife Delilah, Neil Hinson and his wife Susie and Billy Joe Hinson all of Monroe, NC; four sisters, Debbie Belk and her husband Phil of Waxhaw, NC, Sue Collins and her husband Tom, Rosa Lee Outlaw and Betty Urewicz and her husband Alex all of Monroe; two grandchildren, Zackery Wayne Mullis and Kerry Dylan Mullis; and one great-grandchild, Tinsley Michelle Mullis. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Lancaster Funeral Home. Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Mullis.
