Evelyn Mae Hinson Mullis

Mrs. Evelyn Mae Hinson Mullis, 86, of Lancaster, widow of Ray Floyd Mullis, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at her home. She was born March 30, 1935 in Monroe, NC, a daughter of the late Gad Hinson and Daisy Newsome Hinson. Mrs. Mullis retired from Grace Bleachery after 40 years of service with Springs Industries. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a member of the Antioch Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Mullis enjoyed baking during her free time. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mullis will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Simpson and Rev. Dr. Trent McLaughlin officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park. Mrs. Mullis is survived by a son, Wayne Mullis of Lancaster; three brothers, Ronnie Hinson and his wife Delilah, Neil Hinson and his wife Susie and Billy Joe Hinson all of Monroe, NC; four sisters, Debbie Belk and her husband Phil of Waxhaw, NC, Sue Collins and her husband Tom, Rosa Lee Outlaw and Betty Urewicz and her husband Alex all of Monroe; two grandchildren, Zackery Wayne Mullis and Kerry Dylan Mullis; and one great-grandchild, Tinsley Michelle Mullis. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Lancaster Funeral Home.
