Eva Lucille King

Ms. Eva Lucille King, 90, of Kershaw, SC passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in her home with family by her side. She was born November 16, 1931 in Elba, Alabama, daughter of the late Daniel “Danny” King and Clara Mae Stewart King. She moved to Lancaster, SC in 1969 to help her only daughter and son-in-law raise their 18-month-old identical twin daughters. She dedicated the rest of her life to helping raise her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.Ms. King is survived by her daughter, Mary Jean Rathel Krontz (Bruce) of Ladson, SC; a sister, Joy Adcock of Elba, Al; two grandchildren, Jeanna Rathel-White (James) of the home and Lee Rathel (Mary) of Lancaster; seven great-grandchildren, Justin Rathel (Melissa), Sarah Stillson (Wayne), Mary Barrett (Andrew), Chris Rathel, Karli Rathel, Connor Threatt, Mason Rathel; and three great-great grandchildren, Sophia Marie Stillson, Dean Allen Rathel, and Jesse Barrett.Ms. King was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Dr. Deanna Rathel Threatt, and by her two brothers, Waylon King and Mason King.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Lancaster Funeral Home. The funeral will be Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Allen officiating.
