Mrs. Eula Mae Sims Baker, 93, of Lancaster, widow of the late John H. Baker, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born April 6, 1924 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Jack Sims and Eula Blackmon Sims. Mrs. Baker was a member of High Point Free Will Baptist Church. She loved to collect dolls and visit flea markets. Mrs. Baker also enjoyed spending time outside working in her flowers.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Baker will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 3 pm at Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Messer and Rev. Jim McClure officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.Mrs. Baker is survived by a son, Harold E. “Gene” Baker and his wife Thee of Lancaster; two daughters, Cindy Carter and her husband Kip of Heath Springs and Sandra Beckham of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles “Doc” Sims, Bill Sims, Furman Sims and Billy Jack Hoagland; and three sisters, Rosa Lee Shealy, Pauline Hinson and Maudell Shehane-Vincent.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home of Gene and Thee Baker, 2628 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
