I was one of the student athletic trainers for the LHS baseball team and there was one game where it was super cold and I didn't bring my jacket. Cliff was the only one willing to stay cold and handed me his jacket with that BIG SMILE of his!! He was one of the nicest and sweetest guy I've known!!!

Not that I am cool at all now, but I would not have half the good parts of my personality if it wasn't for Cliff. As a shy guy in the early years of high school, Cliff put in extra effort to invite me to things that I would otherwise never been invited to. He was always, in my opinion, the coolest and most fun guy at the party. He almost always had a smile on his face and made us laugh on the baseball bus even after taking the worst beatings by the sorriest teams. I still use, from time to time, some of his most hilarious quotes; probably in an effort to be as charismatic as he was, which I'm sure I will never be. However, I am a better person because of you, Cliff, and I will never forget that.

I must also say how much I respect the tightness of the Vaughn family. I catch hell every now and then for being so close with my mother, but I never let it bother me because I think that's the way its supposed to be. The only other guys I have ever known to have that same connection with their family are Cliff and Jason Vaughn. They, like me, have stayed close with their family even after going to college and starting a new life. I respect that so much.

I'm sorry if this is a long post, but Cliff deserves it and I will never get the chance to tell him...

Cliff, I love you and all you did for me. I'm so sorry we didn't stay close over the years. I will regret that forever, but hopefully I will see you again in Heaven. The God I believe in would have no choice but to let you in.

Sincerely, Jon D. Beaumont
