Diane Theresa (Brigham) Scharin, 55, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021, at home with family by her side in Indian Land, SC. She was born September 28, 1966, in Newington, CT, the daughter of the late Paul S. Brigham and Theresa A. Brigham. After growing up in Newington, Diane worked in the mortgage industry and wore many hats as she took on the challenges of various positions.Diane is survived by her loving children, son, Andrew Gregg Jr. and partner Lesley Graham of Matthews, and daughter Emily Ann of Indian Land; her brothers, Thomas Brigham and John Brigham, both of Newington, CT; and her three grandsons, Dylan, Jesse, and Landon. She is also survived by many close friends who were like family to her.Diane’s infectious zest for life was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was intent on living life to the fullest as long as she possibly could, with strong will and unstoppable determination that kept her going throughout her 7-year battle with cancer. Diane loved to travel and was very good at convincing others to join, whether her kids or closest friends. She knew the places she wanted to see and always planned activity-packed adventures, making the most of every trip. Diane also had a passion and talent for turning everyday objects into pieces of art, crafting them into things to use and decorate her home. But the greatest things about Diane were her amazing spirit, constant positive attitude, and wonderful sense of humor. She was not one for self-pity but rather used her challenges as motivation to check more things off her bucket list. She loved having a good laugh, was always up for a funny prank, and had a quick wit that kept those around her laughing too. She most recently joked about putting popcorn kernels in her stomach for her cremation, but only if there could be a camera to see peoples’ faces when they heard the popping, looked in the little window and saw popcorn flying everywhere… needless to say that was one prank we could not make happen, but we all laughed so hard our stomachs hurt at the thought of it!Diane will be missed by many who were inspired by her awesome life and touched by her beautiful soul. She leaves behind a legacy for taking control of one’s destiny and not letting anything bring you down, regardless of what life throws at you along the way. While we are saddened by her loss, we take comfort in knowing she now has her angel wings and is with her parents, free from the pain she felt for so long. May she rest in peace and know that the pineapples she leaves us will always be a reminder that she lives on in our hearts.
