Carolis Maurrice Harkey

Mr. Carolis Maurrice Harkey, 83, of Lancaster passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born May 11, 1935 in Lancaster, a son of the late John Evans “Jake” Harkey and Sallie Bailey Harkey. Mr. Harkey was a member of Fellowship Bible Church and had owned and operated Harkey Body Shop for many years. After graduating from High School, Mr. Harkey served our country in the US Army. Mr. Harkey was an avid outdoorsman who he loved to fish with his son Jacob on Lake Hartwell. He also was an excellent gardener and he enjoyed raising vegetable and sharing them with his friends. Mr. Harkey loved his church family and enjoyed times of fellowship with them.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Harkey will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Bible Church with the Rev. Dr. Huey A. Mills, Rev. Tyler Boring and Rev. Chris Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Harkey is survived by his wife, Patricia Bradley Harkey; a son, Jacob Allen Harkey and his wife Christine “Tina” of Anderson; a brother, W. L. Harkey and his wife Ann of Fort Lawn; one sister, Donna H. Ward and her husband Harold of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Allicia Brooke Harkey and Summer Harkey; and two great grandchildren, Athena Whitten and Harmony Harkey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Edward Harkey and Maxwell Harkey; his sister Carolyn H.
