Mr. Calvin Monroe Curtis, 93, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at MUSC-Lancaster. He was born June 22, 1926 in Lincolnton, NC, a son of the late Jacob Curtis and Hettie Elizabeth Seagle Curtis. Mr. Curtis was a member of High Point Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Curtis was a loving Christian man. He was well known and loved by many. Mr. Curtis enjoyed fishing, watching TV, going to the beach and dancing on the pier. He loved the Atlanta Braves and playing with his dogs. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grands and friends. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Curtis will be held Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Sellers and Rev. Cliff Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mr. Curtis is survived by one son, William Crawford “June Bug” Garrison and his wife Lin of Asheville, NC; four daughters, Wanda Parker and Willie Flynn and her husband Billy all of Lancaster, Abbie Lingerfelt and her husband Charles of Rock Hill, and Elaine Williams and her husband Donnie Rollins of Fort Lawn; 12 brothers and sisters; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Estelle Duncan Curtis; and a son, Calvin Ray Garrison. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home of Jackie Parker. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Curtis.
