I was just made aware of Dr. Caraway’s passing. He was a great professor, mentor and friend. Making the Acorn Hunter with him was probably one of the best times I had in college. He will definitely be missed, but not forgotten!

Dr. Caraway kept his students entertained as he gave us his lecture in class. As he taught the lesson he would tell us stories which would go with the lesson being taught. I remember some students had not ever seen a true to life chicken or had ever seen a new born chick hatched. I took some eggs to class and he put them into an incubator . One day in class we heard a chirp. The class got excited and of course he allowed the students to look through the glass as the chick made its way out of its shell. He gave a short lesson on what the students had witnessed and a couple of days later he took the two chicks home. An amazing brilliant man. Prayers for his family, keep his memory alive by sharing stories. May you find comfort in God's love and mercy.

Dr. C. was my mentor and inspiration while I was at USC-L, and became one of my dearest friends. He was brilliant and dedicated as a teacher, and his sense of humor was infectious. I had to laugh when I saw the "Christmas Tree Affair" mentioned. So many great memories.

Dr. Caraway was my Micro and Physiology Professor, he was the best. Once a long time ago when classrooms still used blackboards, we hid his chalk before class, he just laughed, dipped his finger in the chalk dust and continued on. Best professor ever. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Dr. Caraway was a great teacher. He was tough but fair, passionate, funny, inspiring, cared about his students and was an inspiration to many. I was fortunate enough to take many classes under his tutelage, and was a lab assistant. I was an older student so he and I had a little different relationship, and he offered me every opportunity to learn from him. And, wow, he had a lot to teach because he knew a lot! I will always remember him fondly. I am sorry for your loss, but you can say with confidence that he made a difference in many young lives and left a legacy you can be proud of.

Dr. Caraway was my Microbiology & Physiology professor @ 1991. He never had to reference a book for lectures and was so brilliant that he taught the class by memory. He was such a unique professor with intriguing examples and stories and the entire class looked forward to his classes. He wore T-Shirts with funny quotes about Microbiology & Physiology. Dr. Caraway was a great professor who loved teaching and always had a smile on his face. He was a great inspiration to everyone and help so many become x-ray tech's, nurses, doctors, etc. I'm so sorry for your loss. You are all in our thoughts & prayers.
