Mr. Billy Ray Plyler, 80, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at his home. He was born August 26, 1941 in Lancaster, a son of the late Dewey William Plyler and Flora Mae Hancock Plyler. Mr. Plyler was a member of Catawba Baptist Church. He was employed with Grace Bleachery for 48 years and was a NRA Benefactor. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Plyler will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 3 p.m. from the graveside at Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Buddy Thomas officiating. Mr. Plyler is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Bailey Plyler of Heath Springs; three sons, Billy Plyler, Jr. and Mike Plyler both of Heath Springs and Steven Plyler and his wife Jodi of Lancaster; a brother, Dewey Franklin Plyler and his wife Geraldine of Lancaster; a sister, Shirley Deese and her husband Jerry of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Emilee Plyler, Devan Nottingham, Ashton Nottingham, Alyssa Nottingham, Andrew Plyler, Miranda Amos and Heather Plyler; and four great-grandchildren, Jaydence Johnson, Ashlyn Johnson, Kinsley Amos and Porter Trout. He was preceded in death by a daughter, DeAnna Lynn Plyler. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Plyler.
