Mr. Bennie Franklin Robinson, 84, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at his home. He was born July 17, 1934 in Lancaster, a son of the late Broadus Hazel Robinson and Nettie Sims Robinson. Mr. Robinson served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After his tenure with the Air Force, he went into telecommunications work and retired from Bell Atlantic (Verizon) in Maryland. Mr. Robinson was a member of the American Legion. In his free time, he loved to hunt and fish. The family wishes to thank Lancaster Hospice and gives a special thanks to Melonie Hunter, his caregiver. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Robinson will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Jarrell officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Frances S. Robinson of Lancaster; four sons, Glen Robinson and his wife Belinda of Emmitsburg, MD, Keith Robinson of Lancaster, Dennis Robinson and his wife Mary of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Donnie Robinson and his wife Susi of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Leon Robinson and Tony Robinson both of Lancaster; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Robinson; and a sister, Sybil Plyler. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at Zion United Methodist Church.
