Barbara Allen Byrd Gaskin

Mrs. Barbara Allen Byrd Gaskin, 82, of Lancaster, wife of Walter Richard Gaskin, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at MUSC Health – Lancaster Medical Center. She was born June 20, 1939 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Oscar James Byrd and Thelma Bright Eubanks Byrd. Mrs. Gaskin had retired from Springs Industries having worked at Grace Finishing and later at Customer Service.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Gaskin will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Elgin Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Rudisill and Rev. Charles McAteer officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mrs. Gaskin is survived by her husband, Walter Richard Gaskin; two daughters, Donna Gaskin Oswald and her husband Jimmy and Renee Gaskin Taylor and her husband Ken all of Lancaster; a brother, Oscar Ray Byrd and his wife Emma of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Jamie Oswald and Allen Oswald; a great grandchild, Hunter Oswald; and a sister in law, Rhoda Byrd.
