Avilene Dean Newcomb

Mrs. Avline Dean “Abby” Newcomb, 94, of Lancaster, widow of Rev. Charles Clifton Newcomb, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born July 14, 1927 in Balsam, NC, a daughter of the late Phillips Estes Dean and Mary Lee Shuler Dean.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Newcomb will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11 a.m. from the graveside at Lancaster Memorial Park with the Rev. Thurmond Johnson and Rev. Donald W. Tillman officiating. Mrs. Newcomb is survived by three sons, Mike Newcomb and his wife Billie Mae, Bill Newcomb and his wife Brenda and Bernie Newcomb and his wife Genie; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Grover Dean and Lee Dean; and a sister, Essie Garrett.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Lancaster Funeral Home.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Newcomb.Read Obituary
