Mr. Anderson Iradell Bowers, 92, of Heath Springs, widower of Louise Duncan Bowers, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at his home. He was born July 24, 1927 in Heath Springs, a son of the late Jasper Jackson Bowers and Viola Caskey Bowers. Mr. Bowers was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He loved the fellowship that he had with his church family. Mr. Bowers was also a Mason and a Shriner and member of Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was very patriotic and served our great country as a medic in the US Army during World War Two. Mr. Bowers enjoyed a long and productive retirement doing what he liked best, gardening, fishing and hunting.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Bowers will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Noon at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Pace officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Memorial Cemetery.Mr. Bowers is survived by four brothers, Condor Bowers and his wife Betty of Heath Springs, Toy Bowers of Fort Mill, Leo Bowers, and Ted Bowers and his wife Amy all of Lancaster; and a special niece, Linda Deese and her husband Charles. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Bowers was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene Bowers, Charles Bowers, Bennie Bowers, Herman Bowers, and Glenn Bowers; and sisters, Betty Allman, Mary Ormond and Mildred Duncan.The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until noon on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Bowers.
