Mrs. Alma Belk Pate, 102, of Lancaster passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born October 24, 1915 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late David Robinson Belk and Minnie Steele Belk. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jake Pate; and a brother, D. R. Belk.She worked at Collins Dunn and retired from Springs Industries. She was an avid puzzle worker. She was a member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Friend.Mrs. Pate is survived by a son, Jimmy Belk and his wife Mary Alice of Lancaster; a brother, Louie T. Belk of Lancaster; two grandchildren, James David Belk and his wife Lori and Debbie Belk Henry and her husband Charles; seven great grandchildren, Jamie Lee and her husband Andy, Dustin Belk and his wife Naomi, David Belk, II, Makenzie Henry, Makayla Henry, Charlee Brooke Henry, Jason Shindledecker and his wife Melissa; and one great great grandchild, Abby Lee.The celebration of life funeral service for Mrs. Pate will be Monday, January 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the graveside at Westside Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Porter officiating.Visitation will be at the graveside after the service and other times at the home of Jimmy and Mary Alice Belk.Memorials may be made to Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, 600 Nichols Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.Lancaster Funeral Home is caring for the family of Mrs. Pate.

Ms. Alma is one of my favorite memories as a child. They were our neighbors growing up and I can still see the apple trees that was between our houses. Ms. Alma and Mr. Red will always be remembered.
