Mr. Allan Richard Rossheim, 74, of Lancaster passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at his home. He was born March 4, 1945 in Stamford, CT, a son of the late Isadore Rossheim and Mildred May Rossheim. Mr. Rossheim served our country in the U.S. Coast Guard in the early 1960’s during the Viet Nam era. He became employed with the U.S. Postal service after his discharge from the Coast Guard. Mr. Rossheim was a mail carrier and in management before retiring. Allan was not an outgoing person but those who knew him well enjoyed his wit and dry humor. Mr. Rossheim really enjoyed gardening even though he had grown up in the city. He especially enjoyed taking care of God’s outdoor creatures. He always had animals around him, inside and outside the house. Mr. Rossheim became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the late 60’s after leaving the Coast Guard.He and his wife moved to Lancaster, SC in November, 1972 to help the local congregation in the ministry. He really enjoyed everyone in the congregation and met many people in Lancaster County that he thought a lot of.His mother moved to Lancaster from Washington, DC and later he and his wife built a home near her off 521 Hwy. He was always very happy he moved to Lancaster as he really enjoyed the great outdoors in the county where his home was and the many different types of wildlife nearby.Mr. Rossheim is survived by his wife, Mageline R. Rossheim of Lancaster; two sons, Richard A. Rossheim and his wife Allison and Aaron R. Rossheim all of Lancaster; and three grandchildren, Jack, Oliver and Trinity Rossheim.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Rossheim
