Acelia Sue Young Vaughn

Mrs. Acelia Sue Young Vaughn, 78, of Lancaster passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born January 1, 1940 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Robert A. Young, Sr. and Mary Lou Hegler Young. Mrs. Vaughn devoted her life to her children and her husband of 59 years. She was a member of Springdell Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Vaughn will be held Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald W. Tillman officiating. Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her husband, Wylie Gene Vaughn, Sr. of Lancaster; two sons, Wylie G. Vaughn, Jr. and his wife Denise of Kernersville, NC and Tony Vaughn of Lancaster; two daughters, Crystal Carnes of Lancaster and Melinda Woodhurst and her husband Andy of Rock Hill; a brother, Robert Young, Jr. of Lancaster; a sister, Mary Lynn Farr and her husband Jim of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home of Crystal Carnes.
