Mrs. Shirley Jean Pate Snipes, 75, of Lancaster, widow of James E. Snipes, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 at her home. She was born December 10, 1939 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late James Pate and Willie Mae Faulkenberry Pate. Mrs. Snipes was of the Baptist faith.A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Snipes will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11 am at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Larrimore and Rev. Dr. Tommy Bryson officiating. Burial will be private.Mrs. Snipes is survived by two sons, David Snipes and his wife Deborah of Kershaw and Dennis Snipes of Lancaster; two daughters, Shelby Snipes and Lisa Jackson and her husband Rusty all of Lancaster; a brother, Billy Pate and his wife Francis of Clemson; a sister, Brenda Baugess and her husband Larry of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Snipes; two brothers, James Pate and John L.
