Ms. Sandra Jean Cook, 59, of Lancaster passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at her home. She was born February 5, 1956 in Gastonia, NC, a daughter of Minnie Jean Carroll Cook and the late Clayton Howard Cook. Ms. Cook loved to sing in the choir at Temple Baptist Church. Some of her favorite activities included gardening and yard work.A service to celebrate the life of Ms. Cook will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11 am at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Hayes, Rev. Larry Plyler and Rev. Tommy Howell officiating. Burial will be in the Taylors Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.Ms. Cook is survived by a son, Jeff Ellis and his wife Sherry of Lancaster; a daughter, Hope Ellis of Lancaster; her mother, Minnie J. Cook of Lancaster; a brother, Charles Avery Cook, Sr. of Lancaster; two sisters, Cheryl Blanks and her husband Wade and Lynn Baker all of Lancaster; brother-in-law Timmy Baker of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Matt Ellis, Andrew Ellis, Matthew Crenshaw, Hunter Crenshaw, Chapin Ellis and Ethan Ellis; and two nieces, two nephews, two great-nieces and one great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton H. i was so sad to hear about Sandra while I was out of town on vacation. She was definitely a very special person that will truly be missed. My prayers are with the family; I can't imagine the grief you must be feeling. God bless you all.

Sandra was a fine lady. I did not know she passed until this PM. We used to ride the same school bus. We lived beside each other on Mosteller Drive, many years ago. I thought a lot of her. She was a really nice lady. I am sorry for your loss. Debbie Stacks
